Palmette Privacy Policy

Effective October 20, 2026

In plain English

Palmette runs on your Mac and only listens when you click Start. The call audio is transcribed as it happens and is not recorded or kept by us. Claims from the call, with the facts from your deck they are checked against, are sent to an AI model to be compared, then discarded. Your notes are saved on your Mac, where you choose. We keep your sign-in details and a count of how much you use the service, and nothing we hold is sold or used to train anyone’s models.

Who this covers

Palmette is a Mac application made by Fluorine Technologies, Inc. (“Palmette”, “we”) that helps investors check what a founder says on a call against the deck and data room the founder already sent. This policy covers three groups: investors who sign in and use the app (“you”), founders and other people who take part in calls where Palmette is running (“participants”), and visitors to getpalmette.com.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use anyone’s data to train machine-learning models, ours or anyone else’s.

During a call

Nothing is captured until you click Start, and capture ends when you click Stop or quit the app. Palmette does not join the call as a participant; it reads your microphone and the audio of the call app on your Mac, with the permissions macOS asks you to grant.

While a session is running, audio is streamed to a speech-to-text provider (Deepgram) and converted to text in real time. Audio is not written to disk by Palmette, and we do not keep audio recordings on our servers. When a sentence contains a checkable claim, that sentence, the surrounding few sentences, and the relevant facts from your fact sheet are sent through our servers to an AI model (Anthropic’s Claude) that compares them and returns a judgement. These requests are processed and then discarded; our servers do not store transcript text.

What is kept is the note Palmette writes for you: the flags with their evidence, the claims that matched, and the open threads. That note is saved as a plain-text file on your Mac in the folder you chose in Settings. It is not uploaded to us. Transcript text is shown to you during the call and is kept only if you choose to keep it with the note.

Your deck and data room

The deck, data-room files and notes you give Palmette are read on your Mac to build a fact sheet: the numbers, names and dates that can be checked on the call. The files themselves are not uploaded to us.

Individual facts from that sheet leave your Mac only as part of a claim check, attached to the sentence they are being compared with, and are discarded after the check. The fact sheet and the files stay on your Mac until you remove them.

Your account and the site

To use Palmette you sign in with an email code or with Google. We store your email address, the name your sign-in provider shares, the firm and role you give us, and the time of your sign-ins. We keep a list of which addresses are admitted to the pilot and the access requests of people waiting.

Each time the app checks a claim or starts a transcription, our servers record that it happened: your account, the time, and the size of the request. We use these counts to run the service, keep usage within limits, and work out costs. They contain no call content.

The website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. The request-access form sends what you type to us by email. The app keeps a sign-in session on your Mac so you are not asked to sign in every day.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run Palmette. Each receives only what its job needs, under its own terms, and none of them is permitted to use your data for anything else.

  • Deepgram — speech-to-text during a session. Receives live call audio, streamed and transcribed in real time; we have opted out of their model-improvement program.

  • Anthropic — the AI model that compares claims with facts. Receives the sentence being checked, a few sentences around it, and the facts it is compared with.

  • Supabase — sign-in, account records, and the servers that relay checks. Receives your account details, session tokens, usage counts.

  • Resend — sends sign-in codes and pilot emails. Receives your email address and the message.

  • Google — optional sign-in. Only if you choose to sign in with Google; we receive your email and name.

  • Framer — hosts getpalmette.com. Receives standard web server logs such as IP address and browser type.

Our servers run in Canada (ca-central-1). Providers may process data in the United States.

People on your calls

Palmette is built to be visible. Every time you click Start, a disclosure sentence is copied to your clipboard so you can read it out or paste it in the call chat, and the app shows that it is running. You are responsible for telling the people on the call that it is, and for following the recording and consent laws that apply where you and they are; some places require every participant’s consent before a call is transcribed.

Participants’ words are processed the same way yours are: transcribed live, checked, and not retained by us. Anything kept lives in your note on your Mac, and you control it. A participant who wants to know what was kept from a call, or wants it deleted, can write to us at the address below and we will work with you to answer within 30 days.

Retention and deletion

Call audio: not stored. Transcript text and claim checks: processed in memory and discarded; our providers may hold request data for a short period under their own policies, and we have opted out of model training where that option exists. Notes and fact sheets: on your Mac until you delete them. Account records and usage counts: for as long as you have an account, then deleted within 30 days of your request to close it. Access requests from people not admitted: 12 months. Email us to close your account or delete anything we hold about you.

Security

All traffic between the app, our servers and our providers is encrypted in transit. The app never holds long-lived provider keys: each session uses short-lived credentials issued by our servers to your signed-in account, and anything the app stores locally, such as your session, is kept in the macOS Keychain. Access to our servers and account records is limited to the people who run Palmette. If we learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you without undue delay.

Your rights, changes and contact

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask for a copy, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to or restrict how we use it. If you are in the EU, UK or California you have these rights by law, and we honor them for everyone. We respond within 30 days. If you think we have not, you can complain to your local data-protection authority.

Palmette is for professional use by adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email account holders before the change takes effect and keep the date at the top of this page current. Earlier versions are available on request.
